Irwin Consulting Engineers is Geelong and Warrnambool based and works along the Surf Coast. We design and inspect houses, extensions, decks and sheds in Lorne.

Much of Lorne is built on steep hillside, and some slopes are prone to landslip. Footings, piers and retaining walls are designed to the geotechnical report for the site, with the structure kept clear of fill and loose ground. Where access is tight, framing, steel and footings are detailed so they can be built with smaller plant and delivered in manageable lengths.
Stormwater drainage plans and site levels for new houses, units and extensions, connected to the legal point of discharge set by council, plus driveways, pavements and site grading. On hillside sites the drainage is designed so water is collected and taken away from footings, retaining walls and the slope below.
We inspect and report on cracking, movement, sagging floors and roofs, retaining walls, footings and stumps for owners, buyers, builders and property managers. Inspections are booked through irwineng.au or by email to office@irwineng.au.
